Homework: After many years of teaching, being a parent, and much research (including the book: Rethinking Homework by Cathy Vatterott), I have concluded the following: Homework should be relevant to learning in class, be something a 3rd grader can do mostly (if not all) on his/her own, and should not be a source of frustration for families. The 3rd grade team will explain more about this at Back to School Night.
We will be asking for your child to do: ~daily reading for 20-30 min (either out loud to an adult OR by self) ~occasional class work completion (finish a writing assignment on google drive, math lesson on Zearn, etc)
